It was only natural for the duo Polina and Svetlana Ainbinder to sing in Yiddish and foster this Jewish music. Their father often sang Yiddish songs at home, and he did this beautifully. The sisters established the duo in their early twenties while studying at the Tallinn Conservatoire. They performed regularly in Estonia, Lithuania, Moscow and Leningrad.
In the late 1970s the sisters moved to Jerusalem. Since then they have performed regularly across Israel and have toured in the United States, Russia, the Netherlands and Estonia. Apart from Yiddish songs their repertoire includes adaptations of Hebrew songs and Russian romances.
